From Antarctica to South Africa, Katrine Claassens's art reflects her work in climate change, deep ecology, urban ecology, and internet memes. As an artist she has led workshops, given public lectures and curated exhibitions all over the world from the Arctic to Antarctica. She is represented by 99 Loop Gallery in Cape Town.
Katrine is also an environmental communications specialist. She has a Master's degree in Climate Change from the University of Cape Town and an Honour's degree in Visual Art from Stellenbosch University.
As a climate communications specialist Katrine works with governments, think-tanks, academia and NGOs to navigate complex and shifting landscapes armed with impactful communications strategies and work plans. Previous leadership roles include Director of Communications at The Transition Accelerator, Director of Communications at the Global Parenting Initiative, Director of Communications at McGill University's Max Bell School of Public Policy, and Director of Communications at the African Climate & Development Initiative.
